Start your engines, of course. We're inbound to Daytona Beach Regional, home of the Daytona International Speedway, of Daytona 500 and Firecracker 400 fame. Years ago, auto land speed records were set here--not on the speedway, but on the city's wide, sandy beaches (you can get an idea of them below you). Today, you can still drive a car on some parts of the beach, but the speed limit is a less-than-thrilling 10 mph.

You're paralleling a long base leg, to be followed by a not-so-long final, for Runway 24 Left--shortest of the air-port's strips. Elevation is 35 feet.
